JRA Summer FAQs

List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • Can I register for camp online?

Yes! We do offer online registration! A link for online registration will be posted on Monday, March 15, 2021. You can also download the registration form from our website. Registration will begin mid-March.
  • What is the cancellation policy?

We understand the fluid situation due to the pandemic and don’t want that to stand in your way of registering for our programs. We are offering the following flexible refund policy specifically for Summer 2021.
    • Changes may be made at no charge if the total number of sessions remains the same or is increased.
    • Final payment and registration lock-in date is June 1st. No refunds will be granted after June 1st, unless we have orders of closure from the Florida Department of Health or the State of Florida, in which case we will offer a prorated refund for those days.
    • In the event that we have to quarantine your camper's group, you will receive a prorated refund for those days. Additionally, if the camp has to be shut down for reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as orders from the Florida Department of Health or Governor’s orders, or Saint Edward’s School Decision , you will receive a prorated refund.
    • Families who need to cancel their camp enrollment due to COVID-19, health-related reasons should reach out to the Camp Director directly to discuss terms of cancellation and refunds.
  • Do you offer lunch and snacks?

Each class will specify if you need to pack snacks for your child(ren). Water & Day Campers receive snacks and lunch as part of their weekly session fee. However, all campers are invited to participate in the lunch program and it can be added as an option within registration. Please see the Lunch Bunch sections of the brochure for more information.
  • What health, safety and COVID-19 protocols have you implemented for this summer?

Please see page 4 & 5 in our brochure for a full list of protocols. In order for us to be in person, modifications have been made to our previous years’ structure to ensure the health and safety of our campers. Please be assured Saint Edward’s Jolly Roger Adventures will be following COVID-19 protocols as established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, FloridaDepartment of Health and Saint Edward’s COVID-19 mitigation plan. Please see below and page 4 for explanations of this plan.
  • Many camps fill their enrollments very early in the Spring. How do I know if a camp is full already and how does the waiting list process work?

If you are trying to register online and a camp is full, the system will notify you that you are being placed on a waiting list. If you are placed on a waiting list, no payment is required. If space becomes available in the camp your child is waiting on, the Jolly Roger Adventures Team will call you to see if you would still like to fill the opening or if you would prefer to pass the opening to the next person on the waiting list.
  • What precautions are you instituting to keep my child(ren) safe?

The safety of campers is our top priority every summer, but especially during this Covid-19 Pandemic. Below are some of the precautions that we will be taking to ensure the safety of campers and staff. They will also be continually reviewed and updated based on the most current guidance available.
    • Small group (cohort) based camp groups of 10 – 14 campers that stay constant for the whole session.
    • Cohorts will be staffed with consistent staff to the best of our ability.
    • Specially designed schedules and activities to limit interactions between cohorts.
    • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout campus.
    • Frequent hand washing throughout the day.
    • Frequent cleaning of high-touch areas.
    • Daily Temperature and Health Screenings
    • Use of Face Coverings/Masks: While potentially not necessary to be wearing them at all times (when outdoors and socially distanced, for example), everyone is required to have them for those times that they are necessary. All JRS Summer Staff will also be in masks.
